Hello my loves! This is a quick post to let you all know that Trixie and I made it to California Wednesday night - although maybe you heard me shouting for joy because the last hour of the 10 day drive was buh-roo-tal! š¤£
The official odometer reading was 2611.6 from Knoxville, TN to San Diego, CA, with a few detours along the way. We had a lot of fun stopping in to see lovely friends and their sweet kiddos. Trixie was a hit with the little ones! āŗļø I donāt think we hit a single traffic snag the entire time, which is pretty wild when you think about it!
The weather, though, was pretty crazy - it was pouring rain when I was leaving Knoxville (I got completely soaked loading up the car!), there were tornado warnings in Kansas City, and there even was a freak 10 inch snow storm in New Mexico that caused me to re-route south to Texas (but I am not sure it even snowed based on the weather reports the next day?). It was super hot in Arizona - 97 degrees already in April - so feeling the ocean breeze was absolutely delicious.
I picked up my apartment keys on Thursday morning and I unpacked a bit from the car (the rest will be unpacked some day, ha!). I ordered some groceries and a few things for the apartment to be delivered, and I have mainly just been decompressing and adjusting to this new life on the West Coast. I canāt believe I am here! I saw dolphins yesterday from my window, and right now I am sitting on my couch with a coffee watching the surfers line up behind the breaks. In a few minutes, I will meet my friend at a farmerās market and then head to Ikea to pick up a few goodies. Living 20 min away from an Ikea is honestly the dream.

I hope you are all having an amazing spring!
Life is short, have fun!
